Replacement Car Title in Colleyville, TX

You only need a few things to apply for a Texas title loan, including a clear car title. This means the car belongs to you and has no liens against it from another lender. So what if you lose your car title? Don’t fret—if you need a new copy, simply request a replacement car title from the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TX DMV). You can do this in person or by mail.

Keep in mind if the title lists more than one person’s name, all owners must sign the title application. Also, if there’s a lien on the vehicle, the DMV will mail the title to the lien holder, not you. Here’s how to request a duplicate car title from the Texas DMV.

Never Received Your Car Title?

After you pay off your auto loan, your lender is supposed to notify the DMV and mail the title to you. If you don’t receive it within 30 business days of making your final payment, start by contacting the lender to see if they made a mistake.

Is your bank giving you trouble? Or have you failed to receive your requested duplicate car title from the TX DMV within 30 business days? Contact the DMV at (888) 368-4689 or (512) 465-3000 for assistance.

See Errors on Your Car Title?

Check your car title closely when it arrives. If your name is misspelled or the document has other errors, call the TX DMV at (888) 368-4689 or contact the Regional Service Center that covers your area. The DMV will correct the mistake at no charge if they are at fault. However, if you or your lien holder is to blame, you’ll need to submit a revised title application and the required fees for the correction to occur.

With your car title in hand, the only other things you need to apply for a title loan are auto insurance, proof of income, and a photo ID showing you are at least 18 years old. You don’t even have to undergo a credit check!
